About
Hello, I’m Liz!

I’m a lover of water and swimming, why? I love the freedom I feel when I am swimming outdoors. I love the feeling of the water on my skin as it makes me feel alive. I love how huge the sky and sea are and it clears my mind of all the daily clutter. I love how the adrenalin runs through me as I cut through the waves. Mostly, I love the pure joy I feel every time I’m in the water.
I want you to feel like that too!
If you’re new to open water swimming I’m here to hold your hand and teach you how to feel safe, build your confidence in the water and show you the best techniques to make the most of your swim.
For the more experienced or competitive swimmers, I can help you too. I have competed at International Masters events and have completed many challenging sea and lake events. I was also lucky to be trained by Keri-anne Payne and have access to The Straight-Line Swimming platform where I can continuously update my skills and get advice from industry experts.
I have a strong background in teaching and education and understand how individuals learn in different ways. I will spend time connecting with you so I that I use the most suitable coaching and learning strategies to support you.
I am based in Hove/Brighton/Lancing/Seaford but can discuss other locations. Please get in touch, tell me what you want to work on, I can design your coaching sessions to meet your goals!

WHAT PEOPLE SAY
Matt, Hove
I wasn't recommended to Liz, we started chatting one day as I was coming out from a "struggled swim" as she was going in. There is an understanding from a lesser swimmer towards one who looks as though she knows her stuff, and luckily Liz was such a coach. Happy to chat she knew what I wanted, and I duly arranged a one-to-one class. Little did I know that just one meeting would give me so much more of an insight on stroke and confidence.
Let me take this me/sea thing back a few years. I love the sea. My Dad made me swim in rough seas with him at the tender age of 5. I just needed, all those years later, a confidence boost.
Liz started on my stroke technique. Apparently, there was nothing wrong with it, just that it needed a few tweaks. Head a bit too high, point my toes...all new to me but the defining factor; to rotate with my stroke from side to side from my hips. Wow was that a game changer. Our class was spent with me (in my wetsuit) and her doing the appraisal on a SUP board (a great medium to work from as she could see my stroke from above). Yesterday evening I swam all 5 buoys in choppy seas, in a pair of swim shorts, hat, goggles and boots...no wetsuit...and felt so strong. Thank you Liz. Looking forward to the next lesson.

Thanks so much Liz for getting me in the water. Your encouragement and guidance has helped enormously, I’m fitter and healthier both mentally and physically. Swimming in the Sea is my new happy place and you helped me find it!

Liz has worked with me this year not only to improve my technique but in doing so has also helped my confidence. I had only just started sea swimming; before then I had only swam in the pool and our local reservoir.
It is clear Liz loves the sea and has a natural affinity with it. Her infectious passion for the big blue has rubbed off on me and I’m hooked!!! I find myself sneaking off from work to get my fix!
I’ve had swim coaches before but her approach is different - personal, enthusiastic, and holistic. She took time to get to know me and her interest was genuine.
After her coaching my swim improved significantly; stronger and more fluid.
I can absolutely recommend Liz as a coach, both for those new to the sea and experienced swimmers alike.
